The Northern Film and Media Foundation

The POEM Foundation is an audiovisual production resource centre. POEM Foundation allocates funding for projects developing the operating environment and entrepreneurial activity or services in the audiovisual sector.

The North Finland Film Commission (NFFC) functions as a part of The POEM Foundation. NFFC provides production services for domestic and international productions.

The POEM Foundation coordinates the development of cultural activities in the film and audiovisual sector in the Oulu audiovisual network. The network consists of Oulu Music Video Festival, Oulu Film Center, Valve Film School and the Science Centre Tietomaa.

The POEM Foundation is located in Oulu on the coast of the Bothnian Bay. The foundation also has offices in Kuusamo. Welcome to the film-friendly Northern Finland!

EU funding secured for FilmArc 2.0

Interreg FilmArc 2.0, an EU project applied for and lead by Northern Film and Media Foundation POEM, in OULU, FINLAND, has received a positive funding decision from the Managing Authority of the Interreg IV A Nord programme. FilmArc 2.0 is a continuation project to its predecessor FilmArc-project, which ended in July 2011 after three years of activities. The management of the FilmArc collaboration is transferred from Norrbotten to Finland in the new project and POEM Foundation is the organization in charge of FilmArc 2.0. Project partners include regional resource centres Filmpool Nord from Luleå, Film i Västerbotten from Umeå and Filmcamp from Målselv. In Finland, FilmArc 2.0 is co-funded by Business Oulu, City of Rovaniemi, City of Kuusamo and POEM Foundation. The business development company of Posio, Posion Kehitys Oy, will provide funding decision later this spring. FilmArc 2.0 is active to the end of the current EU programme and ends in June 2014.
